4 Steps to Updating Beneficiary Designations
An important part of managing your retirement savings account is ensuring that your beneficiary designations with ICMA-RC are up to date.
Take a moment to log in to Account Access and follow these four steps to review and update your beneficiary designations:
- Select the "My Account" tab.
- Select the "My Profile" and "Beneficiaries" menu options.
- Click the "Update Beneficiaries" button to specify the percentage of the account each beneficiary is to receive, and the person's relation to you, Social Security number, and birth date.
- Select "Submit" and look for the confirmation screen to verify that the changes have been transmitted.

Be sure to review your beneficiary designations periodically, and after any life change, such as a marriage, death, divorce, or birth of a child.
