ICMA-RC Introduces New "It Pays to Save" Web Site

ICMA-RC has launched a new "It Pays to Save" Web site at www.icmarc.org/savers featuring information and materials available to ICMA-RC plan sponsors as part of ICMA-RC's Saver's Initiative. Plan sponsors can use the tools available on the Web site to learn about the campaign and work together with their ICMA-RC representatives to promote retirement plan participation among their employees. Highlights of the "It Pays to Save" Web site includes:

  • A comprehensive white paper and a video discussion about the research and strategy involved in developing the campaign, featuring ICMA-RC Vice President of Field Sales Keith Sendall.
  • A selection of ready-to-use materials to promote saving among both current retirement plan participants and employees who do not currently participate.
  • Links to other online resources about saving for retirement.

The "It Pays to Save" Web site is part of the Saver's Initiative, a campaign created by ICMA-RC to broaden public employee retirement savings plan participation, improve communication with non-savers, and simplify the enrollment and retirement saving process.

Research completed for this campaign found a number of attitudes, trends, and behaviors that steer non-savers away from saving in their employer 457 plan. From that research, promotional strategies and a comprehensive education curriculum were designed to better motivate non-savers to participate in their employers' plans. All elements of the campaign come together in one convenient resource on the "It Pays to Save" Web site.
