Our responsibility to the public sector community is integral to who we are and who we serve. We are vocal advocates for the interests of public employers and employees in the policy arena, and in their communities.
In 2001, ICMA-RC founded the Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the lives of those local and state government employees who lost their lives in service to their communities. To date, the Fund has awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships to the surviving children and spouses of fallen public employees.
At headquarters, our associates commit their time and service to the local Washington, DC metropolitan community with food and clothing drives, tutoring programs, and other good works. Across the country, we are active supporters in local community events, volunteering in public schools, and offering support and assistance in local disaster and emergency situations.
We are a founding corporate sponsor of the International Hispanic Network, and an active corporate sponsor and partner of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. In 2005, ICMA-RC received the Corporate Award from the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, recognizing its commitment to supporting professional local government management.
ICMA-RC has been recognized for the excellence of its services as well as its commitment to the community. Its public Web site, its Vantageline automated telephone system, member statements, and its EZLink online administration service plan for plan sponsors have all received the coveted Dalbar Communications Seal, awarded by Dalbar, a leading financial-services market research firm.
