2006/2007 Vantagepoint Memorial Scholarship Application Deadline is March 31

Each year the Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund accepts applications for a limited number of educational scholarships. Applications are being accepted from now until March 31, 2006, for the Fall 2006/Spring 2007 school year.

ICMA-RC founded The Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund (a Section 501(c)(3) public charity) in 2001 to assist survivors of public sector employees who paid the ultimate price for their service.

To date, the Scholarship Fund has provided 87 students with scholarships worth over $340,000. Financial support for the scholarships is provided by ICMA-RC and its financial services partners and vendors.

The Scholarship Fund will award up to $95,000 for the 2006/2007 school year. Children and spouses of police, fire and public sector employees who have died in the line of duty are encouraged to apply. Employees need not have been participants in retirement plans administered by ICMA-RC to be eligible.
