Technical Corrections to the Pension Protection Act

The Senate passed the Pension Protection Act Technical Corrections bill, S.1974, on December 19, 2007 but the House did not act on the PPA technical corrections bill. The House is likely to separate the Senate-passed bill into two bills, one of which is purely technical and the other would contain less technical items. The game plan for resolving these issues between the House and Senate is not yet settled but both chambers intend to move the purely technical bill as early in the year as possible. The technical bills contain the corrections dealing with self-insured health plan premiums for public safety employees as well as rollovers by non-spouse beneficiaries.
