2015 Award Recipients

Whitney Androy, of Iowa, is entering her third year at the University of Nebraska where she is working toward a master's degree in psychology. Whitney's father, Gilbert Androy, died in the line of duty while serving the Fremont County Sheriff's Office in Iowa.

Oscar Armstrong, Jr., of Ohio, plans to pursue a degree from Ohio University. Oscar has participated in many community service projects, including cleaning and rebuilding the city. Oscar's father, Oscar Armstrong, Sr., died in the line of duty while serving the Cincinnati Fire Department.

Malloree Arn, of Missouri, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing from Missouri Western State University. Malloree hopes to one day work in an emergency department. Malloree's father, Bradley Arn, died in the line of duty while serving the St. Joseph Missouri Police Department.

Molleigh Arn, of Missouri, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in education from Missouri Western State University. Molleigh is a Special Olympics basketball coach and plans to volunteer at a local elementary school. Molleigh's father, Bradley Arn, died in the line of duty while serving the St. Joseph, Missouri Police Department.

Louisa Aunkst, of Nebraska, is working toward a degree is social work from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. Louisa hopes to be an advocate for the marginalized and would like to work with Child Protective Services. Louisa's father, Michael Aunkst, died in the line of duty while serving the Benedict Fire Department in Nebraska.

Sarah Clariday, of Missouri, plans to pursue her master's degree in criminal justice from Columbia College. Sarah plans to work with juveniles who have been in trouble with the law. Sarah's father, David Mosher, died in the line of duty while serving the Chillicothe Fire Department in Missouri.

Edward Dundon, of New Jersey, is entering his second year at Montclair State University where he is working toward a bachelor's degree in psychology. After graduation Edward hopes to work for the New Jersey State Police Department before moving on to the FBI or CIA. Edward's father, Gary Dundon, died in the line of duty while serving the Warren County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey.

Brendan Fahey, or New York, will be entering his senior year at the University of Delaware where he is working toward a degree in civil engineering. Brendan has interned with the Port Authority of the City of New York and is a member of the National Honor Society. Brendan's father, Brian Fahey, died in the line of duty while serving the Fire Department of New York.

James Fahey, of New York, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in film and business. James is interested in documentary filmmaking and hopes to eventually direct full-length films. James's father, Brian Fahey, died in the line of duty while serving the Fire Department of New York.

Patrick Fahey, of New York, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh. Patrick has been an asset to his high school's wrestling team and a dedicated alter server for his parish. Patrick's father, Brian Fahey, died in the line of duty while serving the Fire Department of New York.

Montana Greeno, of California, plans to pursue a degree in nursing from California State University. Montana also enjoys dance, photography and biology. Montana's father, John McRaw Greeno, died in the line of duty while serving the USDA Forest Service.

Hanna Hone, of California, is working toward a degree in animal science from the University of California, Davis. Hanna has worked with horses at stables and will soon be volunteering at a local exotic veterinary clinic. She hopes to become a large animal veterinarian. Hanna's father, Jack Hone, died in the line of duty while serving the Santa Monica Fire Department.

Roxxi Jaxx, of Michigan, is entering her senior year at the University of Tampa where she is working toward a bachelor's degree in musical theatre. Roxxi and a partner started a duo called TheSeaSaints and sing all over Tampa. Roxxi's father, Jerry Philpot II, died in the line of duty while serving the Detroit Police Department.

Hayly Johnson, of Alaska, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree from Idaho State University. Hayly has completed a certified nursing aide course and hopes to work in the heath care field after earning a RN license. Hayly's father, Patrick Johnson, died in the line of duty while serving the Alaska State Troopers.

Alexis Keefe, of Pennsylvania, is entering her third year at Bentley University where she is working toward a bachelor's degree in business. Alexis enjoys cheerleading and dance and firmly believes it's important to give back to communities. Alexis's father, Bret Keefe, died in the line of duty while serving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Madilynn Kendricks, of Texas, is entering her third year at Meredith College where she is double majoring in business and math. Madilynn is treasurer of her college and has interned with SAS Institute. Madyilynn's father, Rodney Kendricks, died in the line of duty while serving the Lubbock Police Department in Texas.

Charity Kirk, of Tennessee, is working toward an associate's degree in business from Southwest Tennessee Community College. Afterwards, she plans to transfer to the University of Memphis and earn a bachelors degree, and eventually own a business. Charity's father, Trent Kirk, died in the line of duty while serving the Memphis Fire Department.

Teron Merriweather, of New York, will be pursing a bachelor's degree from St. John's University. After his father was diagnosed with cancer, Teron was inspired to become a radiologist. Teron's father, Tommy Merriweather, died in the line of duty while serving the New York Police Department.

Joseph Northup, II, of Kentucky, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in fire science from Eastern Kentucky University. Joseph is a part of the junior volunteer firefighter program and has received training in police, fire, EMS and dispatching. Joseph's father, Joseph Northup, Sr., died in the line of duty while serving the Jessamine County Fire District in Kentucky.

Kevin Moore, of California, is working toward a bachelor's degree in Christian ministry from Ozark Christian College. Kevin hopes to become a pastor and recently returned from a mission trip in Trinidad and Tobago. Kevin's father, Tom Moore, died in the line of duty while serving the Manteca Fire Department in California.

Joseph Powell, of North Carolina, is working toward his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Tennessee. He plans to enter the strength and conditioning field, while working at a gym or college. Joseph's stepmother, Sandy Powell, died in the line of duty while serving the McLeansville Fire Department in North Carolina.

Lucas Reiner, of California, plans to pursue a business degree from Loyola Marymount University. Lucas hopes to work for an accounting firm, learn a foreign language and run a marathon. Lucas's father, Eric Reiner, died in the line of duty while serving the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Gregory Scannell, of Massachusetts, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Gregory was diagnosed with hearing loss at age six and hopes to use his degree to develop technology that will help others with disabilities. Gregory's father, William Scannell, died in the line of duty while serving the Dedham Police Department in Massachusetts.

Taylor Selby, of Tennessee, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Mississippi State University. As a woman, Taylor wants to bring diversity to the engineering field. Taylor's father, George Selby, Jr., died in the line of duty while serving the Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee.

Carrie Simmons, of Texas, plans to pursue an associate of applied science degree from North Idaho College. Carrie also works at the school and believes being a student worker is preparing her to become an administrative assistant. Carrie's husband, Gregory Simmons, died in the line of duty while serving the Eastland Fire Department in Texas.

Karley Simmons, of Texas, is entering her second year at Cisco College where she is working toward a bachelor's degree in biology. Karley plays the French horn and was president of her high school band. Karley's father, Gregory Simmons, died in the line of duty while serving the Eastland Fire Department in Texas.

Kateland Simmons, of Texas, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Concordia University. Kateland hopes to use her degree to create programs and technology that allow scientists to study biology in labs. Kateland's father, Gregory Simmons, died in the line of duty while serving the Eastland Fire Department in Texas.

Luke Stiles, of Missouri, is entering his second year at Metropolitan Community College where he is working toward an associate's degree in international relations. Luke hopes to complete internships at the European Union in Brussels and the U.S. Department of State. Luke's father, Bruce Stiles, died in the line of duty while serving the Kansas City Fire Department in Missouri.

Kyle Strube, of Illinois, is working toward a degree from Illinois Central College. Kyle is a cancer survivor and hopes to work in the medical field. He wants to give back to the medical team that saved his life by becoming a physical therapist assistant and helping others. Kyle's father, Howard Strube, died in the line of duty while serving the Canton Fire Department in Illinois.

Katherine Thacker, of Kentucky, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree from Liberty University. Katherine wants to work in ministry and help comfort and bring healing to those who are suffering. Katherine's father, Brandon Thacker, died in the line of duty while serving the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Jenny Van Handel, of Wisconsin, is working toward a degree in aviation safety from the University of Central Missouri. Jenny volunteers with the Experimental Aircraft Association and works with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation peer support group. Jenny's husband, Heath Van Handel, died in the line of duty while serving the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Karyn Walker, of Maryland, is entering her third year at the University of Maryland where she is working toward a degree in business administration. Karyn's achievements have earned her the President's Scholarship at her university. Karyn's father, Anthony Walker, died in the line of duty while serving Prince George's County Police Department.

Justina Wemhoff, of Nebraska, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree from the University of Omaha. Justina enjoys playing tennis and sings for her church's youth choir. Justina's father, Kevin Wemhoff, died in the line of duty while serving the Nebraska Public Power District.

Kyle Winn, of California, is entering his third year at California State University at Humboldt where he is working toward a bachelor's degree in law enforcement. Kyle hopes to become a California Highway Patrolman. Kyle's father, Calvin Winn, died in the line of duty while serving the High Desert State Prison in California.

Tyler Winn, of California, is entering his second year at the University of Nebraska where he is working toward a bachelor's degree in nursing. Tyler hopes to continue his education and become a physician's assistant. Tyler's father, Calvin Winn, died in the line of duty while serving the High Desert State Prison in California.

Kathryn Wolff, of Wisconsin, plans to pursue a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Kathryn is a nationally registered EMT and a certified nursing assistant. She volunteers at an assisted living facility and loves to play the piano. Kathryn's father, Arnold Wolff, died in the line of duty while serving the Green Bay Fire Department in Wisconsin.
